TriQuint Modules Reach Half Billion Milestone

HILLSBORO, OREGON (USA) – February 9, 2009 – TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc, (NASDAQ: TQNT) a leading RF front-end product manufacturer and foundry services provider, announced shipments of more than a half billion RF modules to manufacturers building mobile devices. TriQuint continues to expand its module line by introducing a new TRITIUM III PA-Duplexer Module™ for band 8 and a new QUANTUM II Tx Module™ for GSM/GPRS/EDGE applications.

TriQuint’s modules have been adopted by customers worldwide and provide the RF functionality in hundreds of millions of phones and data cards, including popular smartphone and 3G WCDMA phones. According to Oppenheimer, despite the overall economy, smartphones and 3G WCDMA phones will still see strong growth in 2009.1 TriQuint’s highly successful TRITIUM PA-Duplexer Module family experienced record growth in 2008 and secured numerous design wins for future production volume. At 7x4mm, its compact size and highly-efficient design make it the preferred architecture for 3G mobile phone manufacturers. Key to TriQuint’s success with its module families is its close cooperation with chipset partners. Together with the industry’s leading transceiver solutions, the TRITIUM and QUANTUM families provide a scalable 3G RF solution easily configurable for different handset segments ranging from basic single-band 3G to premium Quad-Band WCDMA/HSUPA.

As an early pioneer of RF module architectures, TriQuint recognized the value of integrating individual components to enable feature-rich phones. “Providing unmatched RF performance in a compact package enables manufacturers to rapidly develop full-featured mobile devices,” said Tim Dunn, Vice President of Handsets at TriQuint. “Today, we are also utilizing our module expertise to expand into products for value-added services such as GPS LNA-Filter modules, and an 802.11 b/g/n + Bluetooth® Front-End Module. Regardless of our customers’ RF needs, TriQuint has a solution.”

Product Portfolio Continues Expansion

TriQuint continues to expand its product portfolio by delivering solutions with ongoing performance enhancements and support for the latest protocols and bands. With the introduction of the TRITIUM III PA-Duplexer Module, the TQM626028, and the QUANTUM II Tx module, the TQM6M9014, TriQuint adds support for an additional 3G band to its WCDMA/HSUPA solution.

Specifically, the TRITIUM Module, the TQM626028, adds support for WCDMA/HSUPA Band 8. Previously announced members of the TRITIUM PA-Duplexer family, the TQM616021, TQM666022, TQM676025, provide support for Bands 1, 2, 5/6, respectively. The QUANTUM Module, the TQM6M9014, includes linear switch support for WCDMA/HSUPA Band 8 in addition to Bands 1, 2, 5/6. Samples of both products will be available April 2009.
