TriQuint Products Offer Winning Performance in Power Consumption and
Scalability
HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TQNT) a leading RF front-end
product manufacturer and foundry services provider, today announced that
the world's second largest handset manufacturer*, SAMSUNG, selected
TriQuint for its complete 3G RF front-end for its popular, new Samsung
Galaxy Tab. This is in addition to Samsung choosing TriQuint's
total 3G RF front-end solution for its flagship smartphone series,
Galaxy S.
The TriQuint solution offers the lowest current consumption and highest
degree of design flexibility, scalability and miniaturization compared
to other 3G WEDGE architectural solutions. The solution includes
TriQuint's family of WCDMA TRITIUM
PA-Duplexer Modules™ in combination with its linear WEDGE QUANTUM
Tx Module™.
"We are honored to have been chosen by Samsung to provide the RF
front-end for their innovative Galaxy Tab in addition to the Galaxy S
smartphone series," said Tim Dunn, Vice President of Mobile Devices at
TriQuint. "We are committed to utilizing our unique in-house technology
portfolio to provide customers with integrated innovation and quality.
In recognition of TriQuint's commitment to quality, Samsung awarded
TriQuint with its Samsung
Quality Award for our development efforts related to the Galaxy Tab
and Galaxy S series."
The Chosen Solution
TriQuint's TRITIUM PA Duplexer Module family integrates a duplexer,
power amplifier, and an interstage filter that supports the following
major WCDMA bands: Band 1, 2, 4, 5, & 8. The linear QUANTUM Tx Module
integrates an EDGE power amplifier, low-pass filtering, and a SP8T
antenna switch. The solution is tested and certified with a leading
chipset provider/system integrator to optimize the overall system
performance.
Together, the TRITIUM family and QUANTUM Tx module are an excellent
demonstration of TriQuint's broad-breadth of technologies and
capabilities in delivering an entire 3G RF solution, from the
transceiver to the antenna, and underscores TriQuint's leadership in
3G/4G front-end technologies and integrated solutions. TriQuint's 3G RF
solution is one of the most prevailing architectures chosen by top
manufacturers of increasingly complex mobile devices such as smartphones
and tablet PCs.
TriQuint utilizes its unique in-house manufacturing technology and
packaging techniques to combine active and passive technologies into
highly-integrated, compact modules that minimize board space and
maximize battery life to support all major frequency bands and mobile
communications standards.
